I definitely recommend something like this to help not only the users that entered the giveaway, but also the OP.

This would make people's lives easier, be a great addition to the forum in regards to beating competitors, and also attract more people to create giveaways.

Lottery is something official. Giveaway section deserves some attention so i would suggest adding a small edit to existing "draw winner" system where

1. OP (thread started) can select for how many days giveaway can run (1 to 14)
2. How many winners will be selected
3. Who can participate (all or just upgraded users)
4. Posting mentions would be turned off (unless user wants to click in usercp -> alerts settings and enable that )
5. OP (once the giveaway has expired) can select winners

I think a custom giveaway system would be better , where you can set requirements like "reply" and it just enters them into a collection on the post , as someone said here the lottery system seems to be official use only right now ^ but I would say its needed

Amazing suggestion, It would make it much easier to host giveaways & manage who has joined, etc. and having it automatically choose random winner(s) is much better than having to decide urself.
