Our company file servers recently got infected with a ransomware, some administrator users got removed, some financial recordings and other important files from 4 of our companies got encrypted, and even the backup server got infected too. For now, we have turned the network off so we could locate the virus and remove it.
We are migrating into cloud servers soon enough, made users who can access the file server fewer, and upgraded our antivirus programs.
Are there any possible ways to decrypt the files without paying the whole ransom? and are there more ways to protect ourselves for any attacks that may come to us in the future?
