Should I wait for the FF7 remake on PS4 or play the switch version beforehand?

Basically in the title, wondering what anyone who might have played the game before thinks, yeah I know the remake on the PS4 looks great and will get it anyway but also a bit bored game wise rn and kinda wanna sink in some time on a good RPG.

I've got FF9R pre-ordered but never played the original and plan on going in as a blank slate. Since you have a switch too, have you tried Octopath Traveler? I hear it's quite good.

It looks like a good game and I do enjoy the demo, but i'm planning on getting it on pc later instead, thanks for the recommendation!

Have you already played ff 8-12? If not i reccomend any of those. People say that the remake has a high fidelity to the original story so it might be worth to wait for it (even if it will be only 1 part out of 3 of the full "final fantasy VII saga")... you could try other jrpgs like dragon quest or "tales of" if you like the cartoon graphics
