Is it possible to remove a page from a site or destroy a site entirely?

Hello,
There is a damaging site to someone close to me that needs to be removed. it is over 10 years old and based on complete lies and yet its on the first page of google and ruining their reputation. 
Is it possible to completely remove this page from the website? Is it possible to destroy the website completely?
I have contacted other 'hackers' but they were all just scammers.

Depending on their system, but if they are in the first pages of Google, they have I'm pretty sure a decent backups/recovery system.
