I'd go to a country like India that's relatively cheap. Be prepared to exchange USD for Rupees on the street for a better exchange rate. But be careful about that of course. Take trains everywhere and *always* get a compartment so your possessions (and you) are more secure. And you can sleep on the train. If you're a woman, getting tickets for the train is easier as there's typically a line just for women. Also, you could eat and drink on the cheap and not worry about the water etc. Eating at higher-end places will cost you more, but not taste any better. If you have concerns about that, you could get a Twinrix shot or something to protect you from Hep A and B.
