Hello all. It's been a while since I have been on this forum. I have been busy with my dissertation research. Thank you to those of you who anonymously participated in my research. I have submitted a manuscript for publication. I still have one more paper to go.

I have noticed that becoming a hacker is not always a very intentional process. Curious, intelligent and technically savvy youth experiment to see what they can do on a computer and end up learning various hacking skills during their experimentation. Do you think that if technically skilled youth were provided with opportunities to hone their skills and be mentored by cyber security professionals, that this would create more white hats?

Interesting in hearing opinions.

not every blackhat is after money

That is true. Painting everyone with the same brush is rarely a good practice.

Preventing cybercrime is an important task that requires constant attention to data and device security. One of the key ways to combat cyberattacks is to regularly update your software, as this helps to eliminate vulnerabilities that attackers can exploit. In addition, if you work with files, I recommend using trusted sharing platforms such as https://keep2share.tv/categories/downloader/ It not only allows you to securely upload and share files, but also ensures data privacy

Use a good VPN with a killswitch if connection drops between you and their servers, best ive used is MullVad, no logs or private info, but always use a VPN, most use systems with encrypted software + linux based seeing if you do grey / blackhat activities, best to use something that cannot be quickly infected vs your home pc / windows systems. Key is to keep a small footprint, dont make yourself a target, use a separate system vs your private system and never leave your system open.
