I think error connecting happens when you and the person that actually owns the account both use the VPN at the same time.

When this happens, I usually do two things. 

1) Put my computer on airplane mode, and then turn it off. Retry connecting VPN.
If that fails,
2) Change accounts.

Should solve your issues.

I use Windscribe mostly, but got a lifetime deal on VPN Unlimited as a backup.  It's as fast as any other VPN I've ever used.  It has both IKEv2 and Wireguard protocols.  It has loads of specialty streaming servers.
The knock on it for some is that even though they say they don't log you, they aren't audited for it.  But I think that any VPN could hide logging files from auditors if they really want to.  So just getting audited for it doesn't mean much IMO.
