The monetization for shorts is absolute dogshit, I've tried this exact method before and a 6 million view video got me $0.29, and I literally made a few bucks from 20m+ views. I tried to post compilations but getting subs and viewers from shorts to longform content is very hard. I made tons more just selling the channel with a few thousand subs than the actual content.
