Hi if you have any tips on how I can protect myself better from the internet please feel free to reply. I am currently using Mozilla Firefox as a web browser since one of my friends told me it is more secure than Google Chrome and I currently have DuckGoGo as an extension. I also use a VPN. Are these enough?

If you want good privacy use brave or firefox as your browser. For websites where you don't need to log in you can use Tor browser. Obviously use duckduckgo as your search engine, use a reputable vpn such as windscribe. Clear your clipboard after you are done copy paste'ing, don't use too many extensions, use an adblocker and universal bypass. Use a virtual machine such as virtualbox for running programs you don't 100% trust. To be even more safe cover up your camera on your computer with tape when you don't use it and I've also heard smart home devices such as Alexa can send signals to your computer mic to identify you when you are visiting websites. If you want to be extra safe use linux

Great info. Will look into virtualbox.

It's an interesting topic. Many people can't imagine their lives without the Internet. The Internet is an integral part of modern life. Many people successfully develop business in this way. I work on a big project at home. https://euristiq.com/smart-city-technology/ I think you will like it. I think you don't have to be fenced off from it, you have to manage your time properly and make the most of it. I have found that I am very comfortable working from home and it is not physically difficult. If you become a good specialist, you can have a good income.

What VPN are you using?  You want one that won't leak your real IP address.  If you're using a free one, it likely is doing that and logging your activities as well.  Free is rarely free. :-)   You can check for leaks here: https://ipleak.net/  or here: https://tenta.com/test/  To make a long story short, whatever your real IP address is, you shouldn't see it once the sites have loaded your info.

Are you on Windows or on Android?

What I do on Windows -- Most VPNs now give an option to block WebRTC, but get an add-ons from Firefox anyway.   There's a simple one "WebRTC Leak" that you turn off and on.  Also, if you ever use Flash still for whatever reason, get a Flash blocker add-on: a simple one is "Flash Blocker Strict." Web RTC and Flash can also leak your real IP address.

And block those ads.  Depending on whether you're on Windows or Android, there are different solutions.  The Brave browser on Android is very serious about ad blocking without any add-ons.

And make sure you use an antivirus: https://usa.kaspersky.com/free-antivirus  I said free is rarely free.  This is one of the exceptions haha.
