A US teenager has won a record-breaking $3m (£2.4m) to become world champion of the computer game Fortnite.

It is the largest prize pool in the history of e-sports, with $30m shared amongst the winners.

Kyle Giersdorf, 16, won the solo event of the competition in the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, which hosts the US Open tennis tournament.

Jaden Ashman - a 15-year-old from Hornchurch, London - won almost £1m for coming second in the duos event.

And another British teenager - 14-year-old Kyle "Mongraal" Jackson from Sidcup, Kent - also walked away with a major prize.

I have watched a couple videos regarding this and I see 'older' people complaining about that it is not a real job and that it is ridiculous how much money gamers can earn with eSports. What is your view on it?

Ignorance has never worked well in a business light of things. They may "work" physical labor 2x as hard as the current generation that holds the future. However, to complain and act like the kid has no talent simply because he is making millions much faster than you are and ever could, that's just a personal problem among whomever claims that it's dumb or whatever the negative claims may be. Take this community for example, a good chunk of this community makes money in a way that differs far from your average job, shit you could even say it is the opposite of what some do. The point is, in a world like this everyone finds their strong suits for money and to live comfortably. If that kid can make 3 Million fucking dollars winning at games and topping everyone else, honestly more power to him.
