where did people learn to make good websites?

so i want to learn this, i know i can learn it but it's not the same as learning coding language i think because i learnt python just by editing peoples code and stuff but to learn the html stuff and css or whatever i think it's hard so i want to learn from beginning 

what did people use to learn? any courses or videos or something to recommendm e
