my friend got scammed for 3000+$

he got scammed on local ''marketplace'' for 3500$ worth of jewery. he sended paket in other country with jewerly that some guy ''paid'' for but actualy didnt.He contacted local police and they said that they will do everythig to find it. My question is that what is probability that police actualy catches him and will police actualy go and try to find him or it will be like one of those sutiations that they dont give a fuck.

Yes ofc if the package got a tracking number (what u mostly get these days) it’s possible to track the package worldwide

but can they do anything to arrest him, like if he stole from Egipt and packet arived in Italy can Egipt police go there and arest him or it will Italy  police try to find him.

They will most likely inform the local feds and send them all informations. I don’t know the precise process but they will catch him if they are willing to do something about it.

How did your friend got tricked? Did he sent the package before payment?

he got scammed with western union somone sended him fake template and he belived it was real (he isint very smart when it comes to technology)  and he tought that he got his money but he didnt ofc and sended a packet. He also said that all messages are gone proobably got  hacked also and cleared everything, will this be crucial because all he has right now is name and city he sended packet to. I dont have any clue how can we find him so if somone has any ideas please tell me, and thanks everybody for helping.
