Which Linux Distro for beginner?

I have no intention of becoming some elite hacker. I just want to fuck around with basic things that are found on this site. Looking to buy a laptop and load up linux on it. Is there any Distro i should focus on in regards to safety/security? Or any to avoid? Thanks in advance.

I'm running Zorin OS my self on one of my laptop's, works perfect.

The Zorin distro is easly and user-friendly as Windows more or less. Even the wife can manage it, unline with other distros she won't make the Laptop to a Slaptop and throw it through the wall

Since you're new I would start with ubuntu - it's semi lightweight and has a user friendly GUI, all linux distros are the same if you understand command line.
