Hey guy's,

After a lot of reflection I wanna become a security engineer but I don't know where to start,

I've small base in Python, HTML, Java, but, i know that's not enough at all where could I find excellent quality course to self learn programation and if anyone have some tips that I should know to begin learning.

For exemple I think the biggest program I made in python was a resolver of second degree polynomial function.

Also, programmation is not enough i know what else should I learn ?

In addition i'm developping on Kali Linux if you think it's not a good idea tell me why and on which OS should I go for then ?

Thank's to everyone that will give time to answer me have a nice day and stay safe :)

It would depend on where you are in life and what your age currently is.

What I mean by that is, if you're currently young or in college, you can look into applying for Internships or Student Programs that offer on-the-job training and some even pay for your certification exams if you're lucky enough.

If you're even younger than that and are still in high-school I'd recommend looking into apprenticeships into CyberSecurity. To be a security engineer I'd assume you're going to be wanting a career in CyberSecurity anyways.

If you're a bit older (you can also do this alongside the above things) you can try to build your skillset by exploring practical options via sites such as HackerRank which allow you to complete related exercises and have a further dive into problem solving.

Lastly, you will want to try your hand at CTFs and have a look at what interests you within Security Engineering as it is a field where you can specialise in a lot of things; from application security programming to reverse engineering. At the end of the day, it depends on the experience you have and building the portfolio from there onwards.

Good luck!
