What is your preferred forum software and why?

So, I'm trying to get back into web development and I'd like to work on a personal forum. I'm just wondering what everyone is using these days. Its been a fair couple of years since I've been on computers much. I'd like something that's fairly customizable. I used MyBB before and it was alright, but I'm wondering. Is there anything better I could be using? Thanks for taking the time to read, and answer.

if you want easy way and got money

then Invision and xenforo are good..

but if u know how to code plugins and themes then mybb
