Weapon durability

I’m fairly new to STW, been playing BR for some time now and bought a bundle about a year ago and decided it was time to get into the pve section. Seems to be a pretty fun game, though on my first match a veteran just handed me some golden weapons which is pretty nice. My only concern is what can I do about durability? Is there way to repair it since I imagine once it’s gone to 0 the weapon is gone?

Used to play PvE daily, and nah, it breaks forever. Its part of the game to collect resources and keep building weapons.
