I'm about to be working a new job and both are remote. Should I accept the new job and then work my current at the same time? Is there anything illegal about that in the US and is there anyway they can find out?

Do it, if you can separate them without each knowing of the other, fuck it, go for it. Legally you can have as many jobs as you wish, just check if you need to change anything in regards of taxing (not sure of the US).

I don't think it's illegal, just make sure you can perform both jobs and produce quality work, otherwise you'll risk losing both jobs

Nah it isn't illegal. But just be sure you're capable of being able to handle both jobs... otherwise, yeah you might end up losing one or both.
