I don't think you get it...

If you add a . at the end of a username, it's understood as a new username. The server will look for a Jerry. (which does not exist) and therefore redirect to the homepage... There is no bug here

Periods are no longer allowed in a username i think, if you want to view his profile you need to use the uid link

Periods are not allowed in usernames now.. the user u linked was an old user. earlier it was allowed in 2019.

Not now.. so its not bug.
