Identifying Trust Level
A lot of people will say Supreme and reps don't make a user trusted but they can add to a users trust. If a user has Supreme it means he has invested money into the site and if they have godlike or many reps it means they have invested a lot of time. A user with a lot invested on the site is unlikely to scam for an amount lower than the maximum amount he can scam for. This does not mean they can't scam because of course people can be unpredictable and you never know their situation or reasoning. you but you have to understand that there are factors that can contribute to a person's trust and you should take them into consideration while making your decision. Before doing business with someone take a look at what they have and what they will lose if they were to scam you. Would it be worth for them?
Bad Signs
There are many signs that may indicate that you have a higher chance of dealing with a scammer. If they seem a little bit too desperate. Ex. If someone is trying to give you unrealistic discounts after you said you may not be interested. Another indicator is if they are strongly opposing the use of a MM. If someone is acting like you are a scammer in some cases this can mean that they are in fact trying to scam you. Ex. they start blindly accusing you of all sorts of things.
Using MM and not going first
Many times you might be expected to go first. This is understandable if you have less of a reputation than the person you are dealing with. If the person will not go first opt for using a middleman.
Walking Away
Sometimes, the bast option is to walk away from the deal. If you are in a position where you feel uncomfortable or vulnerable the best solution may be to talk away from the deal. You may feel like you have missed out on something that you wanted but the fact is that you should try to be safe.
Sometimes, using a more expensive service that is more trusted is worth it. Ex. if you are buying something for $250 from a trusted seller instead of for $200 from an untrusted seller the extra $50 can be worth it if it stops you from getting scammed for the whole $200.
