Hello everyone,I'm going through a difficult time and need your help. I've reached a point where I have to admit that I suffer from gambling addiction, and I don't know how to stop. I want to share my situation and ask for your advice. My Current Situation
  • I spend most of my free time gambling or thinking about gambling
  • I've tried to reduce or stop gambling, but I haven't succeeded
  • Gambling is negatively affecting my finances and personal relationships
  • I feel anxiety and guilt about my behavior, but I still continue
  • I'm responsible and organized in my professional life, so this doesn't interfere with my work
  • However, all the "extra" money I have ends up going to gambling
What I've Tried So Far
  • Limiting my gambling budget (didn't work, I always find ways to get more money)
  • Blocking gambling websites (ended up using VPNs to bypass the blocks)
  • Distracting myself with other activities (but I always return to gambling)
Questions for the Community
  1. Has anyone overcome gambling addiction? What strategies worked for you?
  2. Do you know of any specific resources or help programs for gambling addiction?
  3. How can I talk about this with my family and friends?
  4. What can I do to manage gambling urges when they arise?
  5. How can I learn to better manage my "extra" money instead of spending it on gambling?

My mom knows, I asked her to manage my accounts but I would like to regain control.
