Ingredients (for 1 serving):
  • 1 slice of bread (sourdough or whole-grain works well)
  • ½ ripe avocado
  • 2-3 slices of smoked salmon
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
  • Lemon or lime wedge
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Optional toppings: red pepper flakes, dill, capers, or microgreens

Instructions:
  1. Toast the Bread
    • Place your slice of bread in a toaster or on a grill until golden and crisp.
  2. Prepare the Avocado
    • Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit.
    • Scoop out the flesh into a bowl and mash it with a fork for a spreadable texture (leave it chunky if you prefer).
    • Add a squeeze of lemon/lime juice, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Spread the Avocado
    • Evenly spread the mashed avocado onto the toasted bread.
  4. Add the Smoked Salmon
    • Lay 2-3 slices of smoked salmon neatly on top of the avocado spread.
  5. Drizzle Olive Oil (Optional)
    • Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the toast for extra flavor.
  6. Garnish
    • Add your choice of garnishes: a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for heat, fresh dill for an herby kick, capers for tanginess, or microgreens for freshness.
  7. Serve and Enjoy
    • Serve immediately while the toast is fresh and crisp. Pair with coffee, tea, or fresh juice for a perfect breakfast or snack.
