I "quit" about 3 times this year, 3 times in the last few years and finally once a long time ago.

I've quit from cigs and I quit from vaping.

Believe it or not, cigs were far easier to quit from! Because of my work, I could really only smoke 2 or 3 a day unless I wanted to squeeze it in as often as I could.
Vaping, is much harder to quit. I have quit from 24mg - 18mg - and 12mg, and from saltnics from 50mgs.

I always quit cold turkey, only time I went down in steps was the 12mg vape. I went down to 6, then 3, then half a bottle of 3+half a bottle of 0, etc.
I have tried Zyn, I liked them a lot and I used them to try to quit vaping. However, at that time I just started work, and I was keeping those Zyn pouches in my mouth for 4+ hours at a time. Turns out, that was really terrible to come down from after I decided to drop the Zyns.

I always quit for at least 2 months before considering it a "quit". It takes about a month alone to just get over the physical habit. Longer if I supplement the habit with THC vapes, though these work wonders for suppressing cravings!

One of the worst ones to quit from surprisingly was the 18mg freebase vape followed by the Zyn pouches. 3rd place runner up was 12mg freebase, which I went down in steps, cutting it in half at the end of each bottle. Which sucked, a LOT. But a different kind of suck. It felt like I never got enough nicotine all the way to the end, which just felt like quitting cold turkey anyway! Maybe I should have stayed at 6mg for month+ to re-adjust. Considering how much quicker I killed the bottles of juice, it likely didn't work because I was vaping more to compensate for my body asking for more, but never feeling like its quite there.

I know it's silly to say that I "quit" multiple times this year, but I've quit for years at a time too. One a kayak trip, the bag my vape was in, built up enough moisture to kill the device. I quit then for about 2 years. Before that, it was 5 years.

Even now, I miss it. I argue with myself sometimes that it helped give me energy and hoisted my out of bed.

The best way for me, was to just put myself in "gym" mode. Such that I know it would suck for 2 weeks and I was just gonna get through it a day at a time. Turns out it makes you really feel alive all day if you're keeping busy not to think about it. Tell your coworkers you're quitting too, this will put some accountability on your shoulders, should you look like a hypocrite who doesn't do what he claims he's going to do.

I quit twice while sick. Covid and regular flu. You're going to feel like garbage anyway, might as well drama queen it up and quit nicotine while you're at it. That's definitely the best way. Feels like you're fighting through the sickness, as apposed to just a habit that can be cured with a quick visit to a corner store.

A third of your life is going to sleep, another third to the small things, like brushing your teeth, making food, showering, smoking...
It's actually ridiculous how much of your thought each day goes to nicotine. It's a massive waste of brain processing power, and physical time!

Good luck friend, like anything else in life, it only seems daunting because you haven't done it before.
