This guy has the right idea, @xamuel. However, he isn't necessarily right about the decision. That would be up to you, and it would depend on what you want to do with your life.

What are you career goals/aspirations?

Do you believe that your experience in the Technological side of the military would benefit your long-terms goals more or less than service in the Standard Military?

Do you have any commitments CURRENTLY that your military service would interrupt or impede upon? If not, that should be a big consideration - you never know where you will be in a few years, you could have a family member that relies on you to help take care of them at that point (or a family of your own.).


That is pretty much all I have for now, until you answer those. But those three questions would be my personal big considerations to ponder upon myself. Don't make a decision this big based on anyone else's opinion though, unless its that of a parent or someone you know to genuinely want the best for you.

I recently got a letter for the millitary service in my country saying I've been drafted. I can either pick if I want to do 2 years of service in tech military, or I can do 1 year in 2024 outside of tech shit (normal military). Which do I pick. I dont want to do any of these.

Bad situation, I would go for the 2 years because... Life... In the 2 year you could get shot. Just go for the save option my dude

Well, what do you want with your future? The millitary and service is good if you plan on going to college as they pay for it. If you arent looking to be deployed then go with tech work. Its gonna suck but its better than possibly being deployed into a war zone.

I would say the safe two years does seem convincing but if you're pretty confident your country won't be at war then the one year should fly by quick and you'll be in shape afterwards lol. Just the positives of either option on your hands
