Use common sense for malwares. Get Malwarebytes along with Kaspersky (or ESET), run unsafe executables and documents in a virtual machine (with snapshots).
Perhaps get a set of tools to monitor your system activity, like Sysinternals' Autoruns, ProcessExplorer, ProcessMonitor, TCPView, stuff like that.
