Gmx email stolen, not sure what to do

Gmx.com has this idiotic policy where they recycle email addresses if they haven't been used in six months. Someone took advantage of this and logged into my Facebook account. Is there anything I can do to get it back? I've already reached out to support

Contact with Facebook support and explain the situation like you did there.
Some sites are understood this situation (Steam, etc.) and can help.
Maybe Facebook support will help you too.

Yeah, I learned my lesson. I use gmx.com, but it’s the same story. They’ve gotten breached, they store passwords in plain text apparently, and they recycle email addresses if you haven’t logged into the account in six months. It’s terrible.

To clarify, I had my Facebook account also linked to my gmail, so I still have access to it and it’s secured. I’m trying to see if there’s a way to get my gmx account back, or possibly get into the gmx account created with my username since I have a strong suspicion it was only created to access my accounts associated with it.

my optinion is apart from contacting the support you cant do anything else, maybe contact facebook ?
