Email access checker

Hi all, 

First of all i wanna say that I'm new to all of this, it's probably obvious from the following up question i have: 

-How does email access checkers login to emails that have verification(or at least search for keywords in emails)? I came accross many emails that got flagged as valid, but it all asks for sms verification so at the end of the day i can't access it. 

I would be grateful if someone could explain it to me.
