No, it has been always like this; Low periods of activity and high periods of activity when a new hot topic is avaliable to exploit, years and years, remains the same. No matter how much time pass, it'd be any way of crack / pentest thing and the companies will improve their security as well, just to get bypassed again

yea ive always thought of it like that, you cant really make an undefeatable security.

If someone really was dedicated and skillful at pentesting they could do anything they wanted.

I just think that new exploits are being kept in private circles for other people to exploit, its always been like that.
