Do users care about User Groups on cracked.io?

I would assume you are seeking the same answer as I am. I've come to the conclusion that users care about rank on a subconscious level.
When making a deal with someone on forums such as this one, we tend to check on the user group and reputations of the said party to verify their legitimacy.
If the information we are receiving isn't affecting a decision we are going to make then we won't seek to get that information, therefore, proving the theory of the subconscious decision being made.

This information is coming from a guy with the Contributor user group so I don't know how you will react to it.
I would hope you perceive this information as coming from a guy who's almost Godlike.

To a degree, yes.  If somebody has spent time attaining a certain usergroup / rank it usually means they aren't a complete idiot, and they're somewhat vested in maintaining a positive reputation.  There's always exceptions, like the guys who get godlike in a month from shit-posting and being a clown on shoutbox.
