It’s not all about the money.
We chase an illusion because we expect it to bring us fulfillment and then we wonder why we’re left feeling unsatisfied. Why?
The initial satisfaction is short-term, that’s why we keep chasing for more & more, it’s a vicious cycle that has no end. You will never reach an ultimate point where you feel everlasting happiness & fulfillment. Not with materialistic things. (You can trigger that feeling of emptiness by just thinking about it).
Relentlessly pursuing a materialistic ideal is a breeding ground for anxiety and stress which can only lead to illness.
We both have a physical & spiritual element. Don’t neglect the, seemingly invisible, spiritual part. Physical nourishment is not sufficient for a healthy life; man also has spiritual needs.
Family. Participating in the "creation" of good people (being a (good) parent). God. Moral laws.
That’s the key to eternal happiness.
“And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”
-Luke 4:4
