I've color-coded this thread to make it easier to follow
BLUE: Main account (this one)
RED: ALT #1 that was used to regain access to main
GREEN: ALT #2 that was used to appeal the ban of alt #1

About a month ago, I made an alt account in order to regain access to my main account because I lost access to my 2FA

The alt ended up getting banned (I honestly don't think there was a reason, but that's besides the point). So in order to regain access to the alt I had to make an alt

It makes no sense to me that I have to break a forum rule (see below) in order to appeal to a ban

"10 Multi-accounting or account sharing is strictly prohibited, each member is limited to a single account. Create multiple accounts will void your ability to appeal a ban."

Instead of completely restricting access to the site, banned accounts should be allowed to create an appeal thread and nothing else.

I think what you mean is that if someone has lost their access to the original account login, they should be able to make an appeal. Well in this case, I'm with you. Because if someone locked-out of their account after applying 2FA, there is no way to get that access back. That's the reason I didn't want to enable the 2FA the first time. Consider someone steal my phone, how am I going to logged in to my account?? There is no way I can tell the staff that it is me trying to logged in to my account.
I have one suggestion for that. If someone has lost access to their 2FA, and sending a reset password email will revoke the 2FA as well, it might be helpful. I don't know if that suggestion is working as of now or not. But if not, it will be useful.

this is about more than just people who lost 2FA access. Those who were banned should get a chance to clear their name without having to create another burner account to do so.

???

1. Create another account
2. fill out the form found over at https://cracked.sh/Announcement-Account-...Guidelines
3.  Send a screenshot of the thread you opened to the mails mentioned in the thread above^^

And IF you got banned (was the case for me for example, got accidently banned by Spamdetection)
Then just log in with the banned account and create the ban appeal here: https://cracked.sh/Forum-Ban-Appeal
The section (Forum Ban Appeal) gets available when your status is actually "banned".

While you are banned the reason etc. gets displayed too, right under the reason etc. you have a button to "Appeal the ban"

Click on it and you will also be forwarded to https://cracked.sh/Forum-Ban-Appeal
