A9 serials are quite rare and usually already registered because those are actual pro cameras. 1)a) Go to a photography store and ask to check out a sony a7 camera or just pick a testing device if they're available. - take a photo of the bottom of the camera, which is where the SN is located. - If you want to be a bit less fishy, you can use a recorder app on your phone and record yourself saying the SN in the headphone mic. seems a bit stupid said like that but it's quite useful when you don't want to bring too much attention to yourself. 1) B) try to find a seller on ebay/craigslist and get their camera's SN. the only problem with this method is the possibility of getting an already registered SN from the seller, keep searching though, eventually you'll get a working one. 2) register your SN on a new sony account. The name & address on that account are going to be used for shipping, you might use your actual name but you're never too safe, always use a fake name and a drop address. 3) make/get a fake PoP 4) Contact support, tell them that the camera isn't working any more (you can't power on the camera, the viewfinder screen doesn't power on etc...) tip : find a recurring issue / technical issue on forums to have more credibility 5) bullshit them through the troubleshooting, it'll be over in <10-20 mins 6) They're going to ask you send it to a repair center to get it fixed, you might not get a prepaid label. 7) boxing is the second important part of that SE, I personally recommend you to use dry ice and drop the package at the post office at the end the week so that your ice has time to evaporate through the weekend. Sending an empty box could be done, just make sure to avoid getting your package weighed. 8) Congrats if you've managed to get here, the worst is behind you. A few days/ a week after your parcel has been delivered, get in touch with you or the repair center (which will in turn tell you to contact a sony rep). Do not call right after your parcel is delivered. now it's only about being patient, there will be a lot of messaging back and forth with reps, a lot of " " " investigations " " ", etc... tip : Keep calling/messaging them otherwise they will be slow as fuck, play the victim, say that you're going somewhere soon, your transexual bro is getting married, put PRESSURE on them, all the good stuff basically 9) Enjoy your brand new camera |
