Method Accounts
Method accounts are ones that are targeted using information that helps one pose as the account creator. This is done by gathering AOV (details below), an Epic Games username, and/or a console connected to an Epic account. Inactive accounts are usual victims but anyone can be affected when a vast majority of the info needed is public. The most common "method" is done by targeting Xbox players. Using dates from old clips, typically back in Season 1 or Season 2, an imposter is able to create a story about an account with such early info in order to enter account recovery. Accounts may also be at risk by being in Youtube videos from early seasons or by being included in a data breach. Tickets are opened near OG owner's location using VPNs/Proxys, posing as them. This can then fuck an account whenever a new IP is detected right after recovery. A lot of sellers will tend to not even login to their accounts because of the risk and instead rely on skin checkers which if you have been trying to purchase an account you may have seen. Skin checkers are another story but be very cautious about linking any third party app to your Epic Games as skin checkers and others are detected and will link just the same as a console. Epic Games is able to see skin checkers used as well as you which can be bad because more often than not checkers are only used by sellers. Skin checkers are not allowed by Epic Games nor Fortnite and there have also been many cases over the years of scum bots stealing accounts. Thankfully with the Chapter 1 throwback update, Epic has finally locked down on accounts being taken through a lot of means, but that does not mean that these accounts cannot still be obtained through other means such as paying an employee to take the tickets you submit (very prevalent right now).
AOV
Many accounts claim to come with the verification needed to pull an account. This is referred to as AOV (Also known as OGI. Original information) The ONLY way this information can be verified is if it has been used prior in an Epic Games ticket. All previous conversations are permanently accessible by anyone at Epic Games that handles tickets, as well as anyone logged into the Epic account. By having AOV used on an account it is now at higher risk for being banned because to Epic, the original owner was inactive for quite sometime and is now in their possession once again. Even the slightest change in IP can cause an Epic Account to now go inactive. AOV can be a good thing to have if you ever want to get into a pulling battle or potentially locking the account forever. However, most high quality accounts will NOT come with AOV or information of the sorts because it has never had to be used in a ticket for recovery. Non-method accounts are those typically purchased off OGO containing the OGE (Safest option).
What all comes with an AOV?
1) PDF
2) FIRST/Earliest Receipt
3) FIRST and/or ALL Externals Connected (Dated)
4) Last 4 Digits of Card Used For Purchase
5) Location (OG IP?)
6) Name/Address/OGEK (Knowledge)
